Maybe its a self-righteous vindication and self-indulgent crap, but local television really sucks. To the core. Even the China ones are better. The scripting, concepts, actors, everything. It's really gut wrenching to actually sit down and linger with local channels for more than 5 mins. The actors and actresses lack, really pathetically, the skills, the writers came straight out of Basic Penmanship 101, the directors spent most of their time playing bagatelle. So bland and so unfunny and so mirthless and so tasteless and so numbskull-stupid-dumb-jack-jenny-ass.
You have fat ugly bitches telling off guys not to touch one of her charges that way. Well that really works, 'cos i'll bet all the guys who saw that had their tree trunks shrivel up and die. Or that absolutely infernal chill-inducing bad english that rattle off in high staccato and always incessantly. character 1, a socialite businessman sounds like that pimp in Geylang I saw the other time. Character 2, a doctor, sounds like he is dyslexic-alexic-autistic-idiotic-spastic althogether. Even the Chinese shows aren't spared. Bad acting, ugly people. Even the mother and daughters and fathers and sons and vice versa crossover whatever don't look remotely alike. The dialogue is depressingly dull, and the scenes are only sometimes funny because of physical comedy. 40 years and we are still stuck there. This culture is so blah.
